Battle of berlin
The Battle of Berlin was a fight between Soviet Russia, Germany, and the United States. The Red Army started their assault on January 12, 1945 heading to the Western side of Germany and other surrounding countries. They covered as much as 25 miles a day. The Army halted 37 miles from Berlin. Then soon attacked. The fighting lasted from April 20 to the morning of May 2.
I chose this topic because I found this the most interesting. I liked how the Countries split Berlin the same as they split Germany. This relates to WWII because this was one of the last battles. Also this was practically the start of the Cold War between the U.S. and the Soviet Union. The USSR wanted to control Germany and make them pay. They also wanted to spread Communism. The U.S. didn't want that. So they started to fight over Berlin. The Soviet's closed of Western Berlin with a huge wall.
